The Escape Rooms Newport announce new “Host” room; celebrate with Halloween launch event

Newport’s first escape room expands with a sci-fi horror room.

Hot on the heels of the success of their Torture Corp room, The Escape Rooms Newport announces the next stage of their immersive escape experience.

The next room, “Host”, is due to open on 31 October. And to celebrate, sibling co-owners David and Elinor Daniel are to hold a special launch event on Halloween.

Highly secretive

As with Torture Corp, the duo remain tight-lipped about the contents of the Host room. The only titbit so far is that the room is firmly rooted in the realm of science fiction horror.

The launch event will offer a glimpse into this new room with a screening of Ridley Scott’s Alien.

Listen to me chat about Alien on my film podcast, The Flimcast.

Let’s hope you don’t have to stick your face into a xenomorph egg. We all know what happened when John Hurt tried it.

And to thank locals and fans for the overwhelming support they’ve received for the venue so far, the launch event will be free.

The event starts at 6pm with the screening to begin at 7pm in the Gallery Space above Newport Market.

Food and drink will be supplied by locals Sicily to Seattle and Tiny Rebel.

Limited tickets for the Launch are available at www.escaperoomsnewport.co.uk or The Escape Rooms Facebook page.

Upping the ante

The Escape Rooms Newport definitely offers something different, even to veterans of the escape scene.

Their Torture Corp room has the greatest attention to story that I’ve seen in an escape room. They’ve set the bar high, and I’m excited to see what this latest room has to offer.

Both Torture Corp and Host aim to ramp up the tension and scare-factor. Both have an advisory age restriction of 15+ as some content may be distressing for younger players or those of a sensitive nature.

Tickets start at £13 per person.
